The golden opulence that makes you breathless

If you go for the first time in Abu Dhabi, I inform you that there are only few sites to visit but some of them will leave you literally breathless. For the excursions you can visit the Excursion Shore on board or book online through your cruise company, otherwise you may proceed by your own.
I strongly suggest a local guide, knowledgeable and able to create personalized tours, for example The For You Dubai Private Tours (easily identifiable on Facebook). Abu Dhabi is both the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the homonymous Emirate. In the city, founded in 1791 by the Bani Yas Tribe (Bedouin), live about 1.5 million people. The development of this big metropolis in continuous expansion is due to the significant richness that characterizes the area. In fact, two thirds of the economy (400 billions of US dollars) of the United Arab Emirates are located in Abu Dhabi. I recommend an excursion including a visit to the famous White Mosque commissioned by the Sheikh Zayed in 2007 to celebrate peace among the cultures of the world. Proper clothes are necessary. Knees and shoulders need to be cover and women have to wear a veil over her head. No transparency (or provocative dress) are admitted. The building, entirely made with white Macedonian marble, is a classic example of oriental architecture. 82 sinuous domes draw the skyline of one of the most fascinating buildings ever.
In the inner courtyard the finishes include Italian-style mosaics, made with glass and colored marble (over of 17 thousand square meters).
Gold in the columns and chandeliers with Swarovski crystals complete the opulence of the interior design. The largest carpet in the world, handcrafted in Iran, is placed in the Mosque. The pattern represents a flowery meadow and it is made in such detail that you will really feel like walking on the grass. Outside, don't forget to admire the 1,096 columns with capitals in gold and precious stones, the fountains and the pools of water surrounding the building. This experience will leave you speechless.

After, I suggest you to continue towards the Etihad Towers, modern, peaking and shining. Take a picture and continue your visit to the Marina district.

On the other side of the street there is the Emirates Palace, for which I recommend long trousers, otherwise they could reject you at the entrance. The huge building was inaugurated in 2005 and it costs over 3 billion dollars. Inside, the ceiling, completely covered with gold sheets, is made even brighter with over a thousand Swarovski chandeliers.

I also point out the Formula 1 circuit and the Ferrari theme park. If you have time left then continue your visit to the brand new Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi signed by the famous architect Jean Nouvel. The overlapping of external domes, with a geometric mesh that filters the rays of the sun and allows the mitigation of the climate inside the building, is extremely peculiar.

As well as in Dubai it is possible to make the Desert Tour and visit the characteristic Spices Souq.
After this roundup of opulence, culture and magic atmosphere I am sure that you cant wait to visit Abu Dhabi.
See you on board ...
